Calcium Lignosulfonate Dispersant for Water-Based Systems
Calcium lignosulfonate can be screened as a dispersant in selected water-based industrial formulations containing pigments, mineral fillers or other insoluble particles. This page concerns formulation dispersion; it does not claim that the product purifies drinking water or replaces a registered water-treatment chemical.
Dispersion Mechanism
Lignosulfonate can adsorb on compatible particle surfaces. Its anionic groups may increase electrostatic repulsion, while the polymer structure can contribute steric stabilization. Actual performance changes with particle chemistry, pH, ionic strength, hardness, solids loading and competing additives.
Recommended Laboratory Range
For Green Agrochem GAC-CaLS-Dispersant, the TDS gives an effective reference range of 0.1–1.0% based on material weight. Use this as a laboratory screening range only. Prepare a dosage ladder and select the lowest rate that provides the required viscosity, suspension stability and redispersibility.
Qualification Tests
- Initial and aged viscosity at the intended solids content.
- Sedimentation, separation and redispersion after storage.
- pH, water-hardness and electrolyte tolerance.
- Foam, color contribution and interaction with biocides or other additives.
- Application-specific regulatory and wastewater requirements.
