Sodium Lignosulfonate

A Sodium Lignosulfonate Certificate of Analysis (COA) is the batch-specific quality release record supplied with a shipment. It should identify the product grade, batch number, production date, test methods, specification limits and measured results. A website example is useful for explaining the format, but it is not a substitute for the signed COA issued for the purchased batch.

Grade One Powder: Typical COA Fields

Parameter Reference specification
Appearance Yellow-brown powder
pH (10% solution) 7.0–9.5
Dry matter 95% minimum
Water-insoluble matter 1.5% maximum
Water-reducing capacity 8% minimum
Sulfate 2–5%
Calcium and magnesium 0.5% maximum
Lignosulfonate content 55% minimum
Reducing sugar 7% maximum
Moisture 7% maximum

Actual results change by batch and grade. Confirm that the product code and agreed specification on the COA match the purchase contract.

Packaging and Storage

Typical packing is 20 or 25 kg lined woven bags, with jumbo bags available by agreement. Store dry and ventilated, protect from moisture and follow the SDS. The stated shelf life is 24 months under recommended conditions.
