Lignosulfonates could be used in oil drilling working as deflocculants, chemicals to prevent the coagulation of solids.
Lignosulfonate and Modified lignosulfonate from wood pulp provides a chemical that is stable at the high temperatures – 150 to 250 degrees F — that occur in well bores during drilling.
Clay minerals in drilling mud, such as bentonite, often coagulate. Lignosulfonates halt this process and extend the use of the bentonite.
In the oil refining and oil industry for drilling oil and gas wells lignosulfonates are used as a reagent to control the basic parameters of drilling fluids. Also, they are a component of gelling systems, which are low-viscosity solutions with pH 2.5-3.0.
The formation of the gel leads to the redistribution of filtration flows and their better management, alignment profile pick-injection wells, restriction of water in the process, which in turn increases the recovery of oil. Using these systems lignosulfonates is possible by adsorbing properties of surface-active additives.
Just as in the mining industry, technical lignosulfonates are used to enhance various types of structures: mud pits, wells, etc.
In the petroleum refining and oil producing industries lignosulfonates are used as a flotation agent and reagent for regulating of the basic parametres of mud flushes. Also they are a component of gel forming systems – low-viscous solutions with pH 2.5-3.0.
Gel forming leads to redistribution of filtration flows and their better regulation, annealing of injectability prophile, limit of inflows of water in processes, what rises oil production. Usage in these systems of lignosulfonates is possible by means of adsorbing properties of tensioactive additives.
Technical lignosulfonates are used for hardening of different construction types: drill well moonpool, holes, etc, as well as in minerals industry.
